First Ordinariate Mass at Preston

Preston Ordinariate Mass 002So 15 of us gathered in Preston City Centre at the new Ordinariate Centre to celebrate our first Ordinariate Mass. All three Ordinariate priests in the North West were present and concelebrated the Mass, and Fr Andrew was the chief celebrant and I gave the homily. Sense of history being made and a new chapter opening in the North West was palpable. In the short time our mission has grown and we now have three centres, two in Greater Manchester and this newest in Preston. The Mass was celebrated according to the OrPreston Ordinariate Mass 011der of the Book of Divine Worship, authorised by the Vatican and recently revised for the Ordinariate use, Mass was sung according to Merbecke, well known to us from our Anglican days and hyPreston Ordinariate Mass 016mns were from the New English Hymnal, another of our favourite.

The Saturday Vigil Mass will continue every week at 6.30 pm. There is free parking in Fox St round the corner from 6 pm. Hope to see you there.
